JERSEY SHORE — Bellefonte shot out to a fast 10-0 lead, but Jersey Shore had the run when it counted, knocking off the Lady Red Raiders 38-35 on Monday night.
The Bulldogs (4-0), who still trailed 13-4 at the end of the first quarter, rallied to within 21-20 by halftime and took the lead for good in the fourth quarter. Courtney Smith led the charge with a game-high 22 points.
Bellefonte (0-3) had trouble hanging onto the ball, turning the ball over 31 times.
That was indicative of our game, Lady Raiders coach Roger Herto said of the miscues. The game could have been over. We had them on the ropes, but were a team that has trouble finding a way to win.
Lexi Wetzlers 15 points and Tori Sealys 13 paced Bellefonte.
