High school gymnastics: Young leads Bellefonte at invitational

— The Lady Red Raiders had three gymnasts win in their disciplines at the Bellefonte Invitational on Saturday.

Grace Young took first place in the vault in the Bronze Division with a score of 8.4 and also won the floor exercise and all-around with scores of 8.0 and 30.9, respectively. Young has finished first in all three of Bellefonte’s dual meets in the vault this season.

“She’s a dynamite vaulter, she’s very powerful in the vault,” Bellefonte coach Susan Besch said.

Freshman Jordyn Mikalik finished second in the Bronze Division floor exercise with a score of 7.0.

Katelyn Matsko won the Bronze Division bars with a score of 8.3 and brought home second in the Bronze Division bars and second in the all-around.
