Published: December 30, 2012

State police at Philipsburg are investigating a criminal trespass case after someone broke into a home along Miller Road in Rush Township.

Police said someone smashed out a window in the front door of the home sometime in December. Someone had built a small fire in the basement of the house in an apparent attempt to keep warm.

The owner told police the house had been uninhabited before the break-in.

Anyone with information can contact Philipsburg state police at 342-3370.
