Centre Hall residents asked to conserve water due to leak

Published: December 31, 2012

Centre Hall-area residents are being asked to conserve water Monday as crews continue to search for a major leak in the borough’s water lines.

Borough secretary Beth Araujo said crews are out searching for the leak, which was discovered late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

“Our tanks went below the warning level,” she said. “We are losing half our water we are pumping.

“We have plenty of water, we just have to find the leak so the tanks will fill.”

Araujo said customers are being asked to take shorter showers, limit use of washing machines and dish washers, and take other logical steps to conserve water.

She said other municipalities are ready to jump in and help fix the leak quickly as soon as it is discovered.
