Mount Nittany Medical Center welcomes first Centre County baby of 2013

January 2, 2013

Kylie Ann Mothersbaugh was born at 12:24 p.m. Tuesday, making her the first baby to arrive in Centre County in 2013.

Kylie was born at Mount Nittany Medical Center to parents Sarah and Nick, of Centre Hall. She weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 21 inches long with dark, slightly curly hair.

The hospital issued a news release about the birth, as Kylie and her parents weren’t ready for media attention Tuesday.

Kylie was due on Dec. 26, and Sarah Mothersbaugh said her labor started on New Year’s Eve. She waited to watch the ball drop in Times Square on television to welcome the new year before heading to the hospital. When the couple arrived, Nick Mothersbaugh donned a “labor coach” T-shirt, and did a “good job,” according to his wife.

On Wednesday afternoon, hospital staff will present a basket of gifts to the Mothersbaugh family, filled by businesses from across the county.
