From CDT staff reportsJanuary 9, 2013

Taylor Allison, Kyla Irwin and Jenna Altomare combined to score 37 points but it wasn’t enough as State College (9-3) fell to Cumberland Valley 60-58 on Tuesday.

“We needed 30 seconds more to win this game,” State College coach Bethany Irwin said. “It was a hard-fought four quarters and that’s what I asked our girls to do.”

The Lady Little Lions scored 13 points in each quarter before heating up for 19 in the fourth. It wasn’t enough as the Lady Eagles (11-2) outscored their State College counterparts 35-32 in the second half.

Allison worked the deep shot for State College, hitting four 3-pointers to lead all shooters. Irwin and Altomare finished with 16 and 11 points, respectively.
