TYRONE — Bald Eagle Area won 10 bouts, including every one from 160 to 285, as it moved to 4-0 with a 56-15 victory at Tyrone on Tuesday.
In a bout matching returning state qualifiers, BEAs Jake Taylor majored Tyrones Jared Beckwith 11-3 at 182 pounds. Taylor placed third at the PIAA Class AAA tournament last year. Beckwith is a returning PIAA Class AA qualifier.
BEA also won the meets two closest bouts as Aaron Varner edged D.J. Wunder 6-5 at 195 and Clint McCaslin defeated Aleic Hunter 8-5 at 132.
Joe Powers (145), Mitchell Taylor (160) and Nate Sharkey (220) had falls for BEA. The Eagles also received a major-decision victory from Travis Giedroc (120) and 24 points via four forfeits.
