Exposure suspect could be linked to more incidents

A State College woman said a man matching the description of Chase M. Carmody tried to enter her apartment Monday, State College police said.

Police said the woman reported Wednesday night that the man entered her apartment on the 200 block of South Atherton Street at a similar time to the other incidents, but couldn’t say for sure if it was the same person.

Carmody has been charged with felony burglary and criminal trespass, and misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure and open lewdness after entering two women’s apartments early Tuesday morning and masturbating in front of them.

Police could not say if the man that entered the Atherton Street apartment was naked nor do they know if charges will be added against Carmody as a direct connection has not been made. The other incidents occurred at The Palmerton, 316 W. Beaver Ave.

The matter is still under investigation, police said.
