Girls swimming: Scordato paces Bellefonte to victory

From CDT staff reportsJanuary 11, 2013

— Katie Scordato just missed a school record in the 100-yard freestyle as Bellefonte won every event on the way to a 113-50 girls’ swimming victory over Jersey Shore on Thursday.

Scordato swam the 100 in 55.8 seconds, just a half-second behind the school mark. She also won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.76).

Scordato was one of four double-winners for the Lady Red Raiders (7-1). Cydnei Crust won the 200 (2:08.60) and 500 (5:43.67) freestyles, while Deb Armstrong took the 50 freestyle (28.98) and 100 backstroke (1:16.03) and Gwen Lowery captured the 200 individual medley (2:20.64) and 100 butterfly (1:04.64). Bellefonte swept all three relay events.

The Lady Raiders next compete at Marion Center on Jan. 21.
