UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn States Aaron Russell and Connor Curry were named EIVA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, on Monday.
The pair helped the No. 6 Nittany Lions to a 2-1 weekend at Hawaiis Outrigger Invitational, beating the host Warriors and No. 11 Ohio State and falling in five sets to No. 5 UCLA.
Russell had 42 kils on 295 hitting and 22 digs over the weekend while Curry had 29 digs and six assists.
The Nittany Lions play their home opener against No. 12 Lewis on Friday in Rec Halls South Gym.
