A collision on U.S. Route 220 in Lamar Township, Clinton County, claimed the lives of two people Tuesday afternoon.
Lamar Township police said a white Ford Taurus operated by Thomas Zierenberg, of Allison Park, crossed the center line at about 4:15 near Auction Road and struck a Dodge Caravan driven by Courtney Rebuck, of Loganton. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene by Clinton County Coroner Donald Walker.
Three children in the Caravan, a 13-year-old female, an 8-year-old male, and a 4-year-old female were injured and flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for treatment. Their conditions were not reported.
The road was closed for about 4 hours.
