STATE COLLEGE — State College snapped a four-game losing streak and defeated Mid-Penn Conference-leading Central Dauphin East 63-58 in girls basketball action Tuesday night.
A lot of kids stepped up, State College coach Bethany Irwin said. We lost our last four games so tonight was a great win for the girls.
State College maintained a lead throughout the game, but the Panthers tied it at 53-53 with five minutes left before the Lady Little Lions regained control.
Jenna Altomare led State College (10-5, 6-3 Mid-Penn) with 21 points, including three 3-pointers. Kyla Irwin scored 16 points and Anna Stevenson and Bridget King each added nine.
CaLee Gelbaughs 19 points paced CD East (12-3, 7-2).
State College visits Carlisle on Friday.
