CLEARFIELD — Philipsburg-Osceola won its second straight game by using balanced scoring to defeat Clearfield 49-47 on Tuesday.
Matt Carpin hit three 3-pointers and led the Mounties with 19 points. Andrew Reifer added 12 points, and Eric Nartatez, Taylor Golemboski and Alex Gray each scored six. Golemboski led P-O (4-8) with 16 rebounds.
Christian Lezzer hit six 3-pointers and led Clearfield with 26 points. Trey Jordan added 16.
Clearfield took a one-point lead in the third quarter. But P-O quickly responded with a basket and entered the fourth leading 37-29.
The kids put together four really good quarters, which was good to see, P-O coach Dave McKnight said. Clearfield is a good team thats very similar to us. We made some shots in the first half and were able to settle down and play smarter. Taylor Golemboski was an animal for us on the boards.
