Letter to the editor | Some suggestions for politicians

Published: January 16, 2013

So many people are talking about the fiscal cliff that we, or shall I say the politicians, think we may go over. I’m talking about this fiscal cliff because no one wants to truly face reality.

Here’s just a thought: If we want to really improve our economy, if we really want to show that we can handle the truth, I have a couple of ideas for these politicians — Republicans, Democrats and independents — if they really want to solve the problem.

They must make an amendment that each side of the aisle will set aside their differences and agree that they will put together a balanced budget or none of them will run for re-election. They will agree to play fairly and play on good terms, to really sit down and solve this crisis in a realistic way.

Let’s see if even one senator or representative is willing to address this issue and make this amendment this day. See how many really have the strength or the courage to do that.
