Recap: San Diego vs. Loyola Marymount

Chris Anderson scored 14 points and dished out six assists to help the San Diego Toreros defeat the Loyola Marymount Lions, 78-70, in a West Coast Conference tilt at Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Johnny Dee scored a team-high 15 points for San Diego (11-8, 4-0 WCC) as it collected its fifth win in a row. John Sinis and Cameron Miles added 12 and 11 points, respectively, off the bench.

Anthony Ireland paced LMU (8-10, 1-4) with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the floor. Ashley Hamilton chipped in 15 points and eight rebounds while Ayodeji Egbeyemi tallied 14 points for the Lions, who lost their second-straight.

San Diego shot just 39.4 percent from the floor in the first half, but it hit 5-of-11 from beyond the arc to build a 35-30 lead before the intermission. The Lions knocked down 42.3 percent of their field goal attempts, but went 1-of-11 from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes.

LMU attempts to close the gap after the break by converting 14-of-16 at the free throw line, but the Toreros stayed in front by draining 54.2 percent of their field goals in the final 20 minutes.

The Toreros managed to produce 23 points off of LMU's 17 turnovers while the Lions tallied just 12 points off of San Diego's 13 miscues.
