Recap: Fresno State vs. Wyoming

Tyler Johnson finished with 18 points and six rebounds to lead the Fresno State Bulldogs to a 49-36 decision over the Wyoming Cowboys in a low-scoring Mountain West Conference affair at the Save Mart Center.

Tanner Giddings chipped in 10 points off the bench for Fresno State (7-9, 1-2 MWC) as it snapped a two-game losing slide.

Larry Nance Jr. and Riley Grabau netted 10 points apiece for Wyoming (14-2, 1-2) as it set a new season-low for total points in a game.

The Cowboys struggles surfaced in the opening half as they connected on only 6-of-22 field goal attempts in the first period. Fresno State shot 64.7 percent from the floor on its way to a 26-16 halftime lead.

The Bulldogs cooled off to shoot only 37.5 percent from the field after the break, but Wyoming made just 21.4 percent of its field goal tries and just 6- of-17 at the free throw line over the final 20 minutes.

The Cowboys converted just 7-of-20 free throw attempts while the hosts coasted to the win by draining 15-of-21 at the charity stripe.
