TYRONE — Penns Valley’s defense held Tyrone to 24 first-half points before the Lady Golden Eagles nearly doubled their scoring in the second, in rolling to a 70-47 Mountain League win over the Lady Rams.

Nicole Gripp powered Tyrone with 29 points, as Alex Brooks and Jordyn Swogger each made it to double figures with 10.

“We played a solid first half, but Tyrone came out and made some big shots to open the second half,” Penns Valley coach Andrea Borland said. “Gripp just couldn’t miss tonight.”

Kelsey Boone had a double-double for the Lady Rams (5-8) with 16 points and 17 rebounds.
