A Pleasant Gap man was charged with slamming a woman's head off a door and pouring hot coffee in her face Thursday evening at a College Township grocery store.

State College police said Clarance Brungart, 40, was arrested after the attack at Giant Food Stores on East College Avenue at about 9:35 p.m.

Brungart was charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor, and two summary violations. He was placed in the Centre County Correctional Facility after failing to post $25,000 bail.
