A New York man faces felony aggravated assault charge for allegedly attacking a woman in was staying with at a State College hotel.
State College police said Lavellous Purcell, 34, of Hemstead, N.Y., assaulted the woman in a room at the Ramada hotel on South Atherton Street.
In addition to the felony charge, Purcell faces a misdemeanor count of simple assault and a summary harassment violation, police said.
He was placed in Centre County Correctional Facility after failing to post $50,000 bail, according to court documents.
