ANNAPOLIS — The No. 1 Penn State men’s gymnastics squad won the Navy Open on Saturday meet with a score of 440.90.
Trevor Howard and Matthew Felleman took the top two spots in the all-around competition. Craig Hernandez broke his own school record on the pommel horse as the team posted 18 personal bests.
William & Mary (409.40) was a distant second.
Hernandez’s 15.750 broke the school mark in the pommel horse.
Howard and Felleman each got their first taste of the all around competition. Howard posted the top score of 86.150 and Felleman scored 84.100.
Felleman (15.500) won the high bar. Felix Aronovich (15.200 in the parallel bars), Matt Chelberg (14,800 in floor exercise) and Tristan Duverglas (15.300 in vault) also won events for Penn State.
