DELMONT — State College broke open a tight game with four third-period goals as the Little Lions defeated Hempfield 7-2 on Monday.
Stefan Horgas, Adam Warfield, Luc Michael and Dalton Bown scored in the period as State College (8-6) pulled away from the Spartans (1-11-1).
Jared Karas led the Little Lions with two goals and two assists. Koty Campbell also scored, while Michael and Robbie Waite added two assists each. Zach Woytowich made 21 saves.
State College hosts Hempfield on Thursday at Penn States Greenberg Ice Pavilion.
