NEW OXFORD — Chris Thompson, Jay Prentice and Bub Lumadue reached the finals to help Philipsburg-Osceola finish fourth in Saturdays 22-team New Oxford Invitational.
Thompson went 2-1 and fell to South Westerns Owen Wherley 4-2 in the 106-pound final. The loss was Thompsons first of the season.
Prentice won three straight bouts at 170 before ending the tournament with an 11-3 loss to top-seeded Joey Krulock of Mechanicsburg. Prentice opened the tournament with an 11-second pin.
Lumadue dropped a 1-0 decision to West Chester Hendersons Derek Matonti in the 182-pound final. Lumadue pinned two of his first three opponents to reach the finals.
Brian Evans (third, 126), Andrew Greenawalt (fifth, 152), Nick Gray (seventh, 220) and Dallas Kephart (eighth, 132) also placed for the Mounties.
P-O finished with 120.5 team points. Mechanicsburg and South Western shared the team title. Both programs scored 132.5 points.
The tournament was scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Fridays poor weather forced organizers to devise a one-day format.
