Men's tennis: Penn State drops 2 matches

January 28, 2013

— The Penn State men’s tennis team suffered a pair of losses at the Wake Forest Tournament on Sunday, falling 4-0 to the host Demon Deacons and 4-3 to Alabama.

After getting swept in doubles, the Nittany Lions lost three singles matches to clinch the win for Wake Forest, with the meet halted with the other three singles matches unfinished.

Russell Bader and Matt Barry both won in straight sets and Chris Young needed three sets to take his match against the Crimson Tide, but the Nittany Lions could not pick up one more win. Bryan Welnetz and C.J. Griffin added a win in doubles, but the Tide took the other two matches to grab the doubles point.
