Penn State men’s lacrosse: Nittany Lions open season ranked 15th

— Penn State is ranked 15th in a pair of preseason polls as a new season approaches.

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association and Nike/Inside Lacrosse both have the Nittany Lions at the same spot for the coming season under third-year head coach Jeff Tambroni.

Penn State faces No. 4 Johns Hopkins in an exhibition match at 1 p.m. Saturday at Holuba Hall. The regular season opens Feb. 9 at Michigan, then the team meets No. 9 Denver on Feb. 17 in Jacksonville, Fla., in the first of seven games against ranked teams on this season’s schedule.
