Recap: UNLV vs. Nevada

Khem Birch scored 14 points off the bench as the UNLV Runnin' Rebels defeated the Nevada Wolf Pack, 66-54, in Mountain West Conference action at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Anthony Bennett scored 13 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double and Bryce Dejean-Jones added 11 points for UNLV (17-4m 4-2 MWC) which has won four of its last five contests.

Deonte Burton and Jerry Evans Jr. each netted 14 points while Evans also collected nine rebounds for Nevada (11-9, 2-4) which had won two of three entering play.

UNLV led 34-27 at halftime by shooting 40.6 percent from the floor while holding Nevada to just 35.7 percent.

Despite cooling to 37 percent shooting in the second half the Runnin' Rebels held the Wolf Pack to just nine field goals in the period and hit 10-of-16 free throw attempts to secure the victory.

UNLV had a 44-28 edge in rebounds and outscored Nevada 17-11 on points off turnovers.
