HUNTINGDON — Huntingdon won four bouts by two or less points as it defeated Philipsburg-Osceola 36-23 in a Mountain League dual meet Thursday.
P-Os Brian Evans opened the meet with a 7-6 victory over Devon Green at 126. Huntingdon responded by winning two close bouts. Nathan Russell defeated Scott Yarger 4-2 at 132 and Jon Wagner edged Dallas Kephart 5-4 at 138.
The Bearcats received two other key lightweight victories. Collin Glorioso handed Chris Thompson his second loss by earning a 7-5 victory at 106. Matt Wilson ended the meet by defeating Bryan Descavish 6-4 at 120.
Caleb Shively, Andrew Greenawalt and Nick Gray also had decision victories for the Mounties. Shively handled Eric Lynn 8-2 at 145, Greenawalt defeated Logan Fisher 7-0 at 152 and Gray edged Tyler Wholaver 7-5 in overtime at 215.
Jay Prentice (170) had a technical fall and Bub Lumadue (182) produced a pin for the Mounties (7-6).
Huntingdon (12-2) wrestles Mount Union in Saturdays District 6 Class AA semifinals.
