UNIVERSITY PARK — Seventh-ranked Mercyhurst displayed its ranking on Friday night by downing Penn State 5-2 at Greenberg Ice Pavilion.

Freshman goaltender Celine Whitlinger stopped 59 shots for Penn State (7-18-1), as the Lakers (20-5-1) rolled to a 4-1 lead. Hannah Hoenshell and Jordin Pardoski each scored goals for Penn State.
