Penn State ice hockey: Nittany Lions rally past Ohio

UNIVERSITY PARK The Penn State ice hockey team finished off a 32-year rivalry with Ohio with a come-from-behind 5-3 victory Saturday night at the Greenberg Ice Pavilion.

Curtis Loik scored the game-winning goal, wrapping the puck around the post from behind the net, with 4:54 left and Casey Bailey added an empty-net goal in the final minute to complete the comeback. It was Bailey’s second goal of the night, with George Saad scoring in the first period and Peter Sweetland netting a goal earlier in the third.

Derek Rahme, Tyler Pilmore and Brett Agnew scored for Ohio, which led 3-2 until Sweetland’s goal midway through the third period.

Matt Skoff made 34 saves as the Nittany Lions outshot the Bobcats 53-37.
