Gymnastics: Fredericks paces Bellefonte past DuBois; Bald Eagle's Kachik shines

— Cortney Fredericks won two individual events and placed second in another on the way to the all-around title as Bellefonte scored a 127.4-119.7 win over DuBois on Saturday.

Fredericks captured the uneven parallel bars (8.55) and balance beam (8.1) and was runnerup in the vault (8.5). She totaled 33.35 points in the all-around.

Bellefonte Grace Young scored a career-high 8.6 to win the floor exercise. Senior Mikayla Eckley, who was honored before the match, had a career-high 6.65 on the bars.

DuBois' Amy Sinclair won the vault (8.6) and finished second in the all-around (32.60).

Bald Eagle Area’s Michelle Kachik, competing as an independent, had an 8.45 in the vault and an 8.5 in the floor excercise.

Bellefonte travels to St. Marys on Wednesday and then hosts the Central PA Gymnastic Championship at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
