UNIVERSITY PARK — Jill Holdcroft scored the lone Penn State goal in a 4-1 loss to No. 7 Mercyhurst on Saturday.

Nicole Paniccia made 46 saves in the Nittany Lion net. Holdcroft’s goal was her ninth of the season and fifth on the power play. Shannon Yoxheimer and Jordin Pardoski picked up assists.

Christine Bestland scored twice and Shelby Bram and Vaila Higson had one goal each for the Lakers.

The Nittany Lions (7-19-1, 1-12-1 CHA) meet Lindenwood next weekend.
