Sue Paterno to appear on Katie Couric talk show Feb. 11

Published: February 5, 2013

An interview with Sue Paterno, the wife of former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, will be aired Feb. 11 on “Katie,” according to HollywoodReporter.com.

Couric interviewed Sue Paterno at her State College home earlier this year, the website said. Paterno also will be on the show when her interview airs. “Katie” airs locally on WATM (Comcast Channel 5).

Joe Paterno died from complications from cancer in January 2012 shortly after being fired by the university amid the fallout of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.

Sandusky was sentenced to at least 30 years in state prison after being convicted on 45 counts of child sexual abuse. A report by former FBI director Louis Freeh claimed that Paterno was involved in a cover-up of the scandal.

The family continues to defend Joe Paterno’s innocence.
