Girls basketball: State College trounces Williamsport on Senior Night

Published: February 5, 2013

— State College dominated Williamsport 69-28 on a very special senior night for one Lady Little Lion.

“It was senior night so there was a lot of emotion on the floor,” said State College coach Bethany Irwin. “I have seven seniors who really went out there and gave it everything they had.”

Meghan Karstetter scored a career-high 14 points on the seniors’ special evening in the North Gym.

Freshman Kyla Irwin led all scorers with 16 points.

Seniors Anna Stevenson, Jenna Altomare and Taylor Allison each scored seven points, while fellow seniors Franki Treglia and Allie Baney had five and two points, respectively.

For Baney it was her first action after being sidelined with an injury most of the season for the Lady Little Lions (14-7, 9-5 Mid-Penn).

“Allison Baney, this was her first game she ever played in,” Irwin said. “She was on the injured list all season and she finally got cleared to play.”
