— Bald Eagle Area held West Branch to six second-half points on its way to a 52-34 home victory Wednesday.

The game was tied 28-28 entering the second half. The Lady Eagles seized control by outscoring the Warriors 11-2 in the third quarter.

Marissa Ward scored 14 points and had nine assists for BEA (18-1). Mary Pillot added 13 points and grabbed five rebounds. Katelyn Miller scored 10 points while Lexi Josefix collected five steals.

“We turned it up, got some steals and went on a run in the third quarter,” BEA coach Troy Butterworth said. “It was Senior Night and the kids were feeling some emotions in the first half. We talked about it at halftime and held them to two points in the third quarter. Our defense played well.”

BEA plays host to Tyrone in a key Mountain League game Friday.
