Girls’ basketball: Warton scores 43 points in win over CCCA

STATE COLLEGE — Centre County Christian Academy couldn’t stop Alyssa Wharton as it fell to Clearfield Alliance 51-50 in overtime on Thursday.

Wharton scored almost all of Clearfields points on the night, racking up 43 throughout four quarters and one overtime.

Despite the tough loss, Becky Maholic had a team-high 20 points for CCCA, while Rachel Campbell bagged a double-double with 19 points and 16 boards on the night.

Centre County Christian will play host Grace Prep on Friday.
