TYRONE — The Bald Eagle Area boys basketball team struggled countering Tyrones hot-shooting ways in a 77-53 loss Saturday night.
The Golden Eagles (15-4) converted 30 field goals, including 10 3-pointers. Brandon Gripp hit seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 32 points. Jordan Miller scored 14 points and Preston Mitchell added 12 in the victory.
Ryan Dyke led BEA (17-2), which learned Saturday it secured the top seed in the District 6 Class AA playoffs, with 10 points. Brandon Gettig added nine points while Bryan Greene and Clayton Cingle each added seven.
It was a bad game for us and a very good game for Tyrone, BEA coach Bill Butterworth said. Tyrone beat us in every aspect of the game, shooting, rebounding and outhustling us for loose balls. They were doing what we normally do.
Bellefonte visits BEA on Tuesday.
