Pennsylvania Furnace man killed in one-vehicle Patton Township crash

— A Pennsylvania Furnace man was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning near the intersection of North Atherton Street and Buffalo Run Road, Patton Township police said.

Cory Slick, 45, lost control of his 2003 Dodge Dakota truck around 4:45 a.m., sliding off the roadway and crashing into a Uni-Mart fuel sign at 5140 W. Buffalo Run Road.

Slick died as a result of chest trauma and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers said.

Police have not released a cause of the crash, but have a reconstructionist working on an investigation to determine what happened.

Alpha Fire Company, Centre LifeLink EMS and Ferguson Township police were also on scene Sunday morning.
