Jump Rope for Hearts raises more than $20,000

State College elementary school studets raised more than $20,000 for the American Heart Association to help with heart disease awareness.

The annual Jump Rope for Heart has raised more than $250,000 in the past 10 years. The patricipating children raise money through friends and family and jump during the one-hour event.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for adults in the country.
