SPRING MILLS A solid first half helped Penns Valley broke a 10-game losing skid with a 47-37 win over Clearfield on Monday night.
Ashley Strubles 12 points and six rebounds and Mackenzie Ironsides 11 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists paced the Lady Rams (6-13). Kelsey Boone added nine points and 15 rebounds and Carly Ripka had four steals and a pair of assists.
Penns Valley jumped to a 32-16 at halftime to help end the slide.
We played a high-intensity game for four quarters and thats how we can play, Lady Rams coach Andrea Borland said. Tonight we finally played the way we can play. We played really well as a team. We had effort from all of them.
