PHILIPSBURG Tyrone came out hot and never looked back in a 98-42 win over Philipsburg-Osceola on Monday.
The Eagles (16-4) played like a team itching to get to the postseason as they outscored P-O (5-13) 35-13 in the opening quarter. After an even second period, the Eagles went on a 45-11 run to complete the rout.
They were on fire. They couldnt miss a shot all night, P-O coach Dave McKnight said. Theyre gearing up for the playoffs. Theyre playing their best ball. We couldnt match them.
Tyrone did most of its damage from beyond the 3-point line as Eagle shooters drilled 15 3-pointers in the game. Jordan Miller led Tyrone with six of them and finished with a game-high 29 points.
Eric Nartatez and Matt Carpin led P-O with 14 points each.
