Boys basketball: Clearfield drops Penns Valley in regular season finale

Published: February 16, 2013

— Penns Valley got off to a slow start and couldn’t catch Clearfield on Friday, dropping its regular-season finale to the Bisons 50-27.

Dalton Ulmanic led the Rams (12-6) with six points, as John Ott added five. Clearfield held the Rams to seven first-half points.

“It wasn’t how you want to tune up for districts, but sometimes you need a wake-up call,” Rams coach Terry Glunt said. “But we had a terrific season. We just weren’t on tonight. Hopefully, we’ll play better on Tuesday.”

Penns Valley opens its District 6 Class AA tournament on Tuesday with a first-round matchup against Ligonier Valley. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Tyrone High School.
