State College police investigating hit-and-run crash

State College police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that brought down a utility pole early Sunday morning.

An unknown vehicle struck a wooden utility pole at the intersection of Fraternity Row and East Foster Avenue and fled south on Fraternity Row. The pole broke in half and was knocked to the ground, along with a street light.

Police said the car may be a Honda or similar passenger car and should have significant front-end damage, including one or more broken windows. The vehicle may have been damaged to such an extent that it is inoperable.
