Penn State women's soccer: Spring slate set

Published: February 22, 2013

A pair of games against professional teams with members of the U.S. national team will highlight the spring exhibition schedule for Penn State.

Two of the four games will be against teams from the new National Women’s Soccer League, a creation of the U.S. women’s national program. On March 17, the Nittany Lions will visit Germantown, Md., to meet the Washington Spirit, with former Penn State standoout and national team member Ali Krieger along with Lori Lindsey. On March 23, Penn State will go to Rochester, N.Y., to face the Western New York Flash, with Carli Lloyd and Abby Wambach.

The spring slate also has a match against Virginia at Ellicott City, Md., on April 13 and a contest against Syracuse at Jeffrey Field to close the spring on April 19.
