UNIVERSITY PARK — Lauren Bonness, Haley Crawford, Chandley Book and Niara Valentine teamed for State College’s top finish as they took fifth place in the 4x200 meter relay in the Pennsylvania Track & Field Coaches Association Indoor State Track & Field Meet on Saturday at Penn State University.
The quartet covered the distance in 1 minute, 43.65 seconds to earn a medal. Also landing a medal was the 4x800 team of Hannah Grubb, Victoria Crawford, Kaelyn Yoder and Emma Cousins, who placed sixth in 9:30.32.
Cousins turned in the top individual finish for the Lady Little Lions with a 14th in the 800 (2:18.84). Bonness was 16th in the 60 (8.01). Valentine (26.08) was 16th and Haley Crawford (26.23) was 22nd in the 200. Grubb (5:21.45) was 24th in the mile. Bonness, Haley Crawford, Victoria Crawford and Natasha Fedkina (4:10.11) placed 24th in the 4x400.
On the boys’ side, Will Cather recorded State College’s top individual finish by running 1:56.39 to place seventh in the 800. Cather also joined Chris Golembeski, Kyle Adams and Eric Heatwole to take seventh in the 4x800 relay (8:08.75).
Matt Mullen rounded out the Little Lion finishers with a 15th in the shot put with a toss of 48 feet, 5 1/2 inches.
