The storm that brought snow, sleet and freezing rain to Centre County on Tuesday night and into Wednesday delayed school openings and was to blame for a barrage of minor traffic accidents overnight.

Most Centre County school districts delayed opening for two hours delay Wednesday due to the hazardous weather conditions.

The Bald Eagle Area, Bellefonte, Penns Valley and State College districts announced the delays on their websites. The Philipsburg-Osceola district did not announce any schedule changes.

Scanner and police reports indicated a host of calls; none were major.

AccuWeather is calling for some additional rain and snow showers Wednesday with little accumulation, and a high temperature of 42 degrees in the region.
