Welcome to the March edition of Good Life in Happy Valley. This month, we introduce you to Jason Lenox, a Pennsylvania Furnace resident who splits his time between working for a construction company and a burgeoning career as a freelance comics artist creating aliens, monsters, demons, wizards and other fantastic characters that populate his alternate universes.
Erica Kaufman, a master yoga practitioner and instructor, teaches her trademarked Lila Yoga style in her State College studio of the same name. She also helps students achieve serenity, harmony and balance in India. In fact, shes there right now, the latest of several trips over the past two years and the continuation of a lifelong pursuit of yoga that began in early childhood.
In addition, the Living Local section takes you to the Green Drake Gallery and Arts Center in downtown Millheim. Opened in 2011, its becoming a venue for concerts, receptions, poetry readings and jazz workshops in addition to a showcase for local artists. There are even active studios on the top floor, so customers can get a behind-the-scene peek at art in the making.
And if all thats not enough to chew on, local pediatric dentist Dr. Bob Kilareski sat down with us to talk about caring for young teeth and helping provide dental care for underinsured children during the annual Give Kids a Smile free clinic this month.
We hope youll once again enjoy getting to know some of the interesting people and places of Centre County.
