Penn State ice hockey: Shannon Yoxheimer earns honor

— Penn State forward Shannon Yoxheimer was named to the College Hockey America Rookie Team on Thursday.

Yoxheimer led the Nittany Lions (7-26-2) in goals (14), assists (17) and points (31) this season.

The freshman ranked in the CHA’s top 10 in goals (tied-6th), assists (9th) and points (tied-5th), while leading the league in shots with 169 attempts on net. Nationally, Yoxheimer was ninth in points per game by rookies.
