CLEARWATER, Fla. — Western Michigan scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to score a 9-8 victory over Penn State on Friday.
Alyssa Renwick was 3-for-4, Lauren Yao had two doubles with five RBIs and Cassidy Bell was hitless but drew three walks and scored three times for the Nittany Lions (4-11).
Jordan Wheatley took the loss, and Penn State committed three errors.
Earlier in the day, Bell ripped a solo home run and Yao had an RBI single in a 4-2 loss to Loyola Marymount. Marissa Diescher took the loss.
The Nittany Lions face Toledo and Maine on Saturday.
