MUNCIE, Ind. — Penn State suffered its second loss in as many days, falling 25-20, 25-17, 18-25, 25-20 to Ball State on Sunday.
Aaron Russells 15 kills and Peter Russells 12 kills on .455 hitting paced the No. 10 Nittany Lions (14-5), with 44 assists and seven digs for Taylor Hammond, eight digs for Connor Curry, seven digs for Aaron Russell and three blocks for Ian Hendries.
The Cardinals (10-5) hit .379 and held a 9-6 blocking advantage over the Nittany Lions, who hit .218.
On Saturday night, Penn State lost 18-25, 25-23, 19-25, 27-25, 15-11 to IPFW, with 19 kills and 10 digs from Aaron Russell, 14 kills from Nick Goodell, 11 kills and three blocks from Matt Seifert, 56 assists from Hammond, 13 digs for Curry and three blocks for Nick Turko.
The Nittany Lions visit Ohio State on Saturday.
