HARRISBURG State College kicked off its boys tennis season with a dominating 5-0 victory against Susquehanna on Monday.
The Little Lions did not drop a set in sweeping the singles and doubles matches. Ed Badding, Cooper Josephs and Enrique del Castillo netted singles victories. The doubles teams of Luke Plowden-Daniel Scholl and Sam Wherley-Ben Mitchell cruised to easy wins.
State College has not lost a regular-season match since 2007.
The guys did a nice job today considering we started tryouts last Monday and have had little time to prepare, Little Lion coach Jane Borden said. We have quite a few kids capable of playing in the varsity positions, so it should be an interesting season.
