UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State gymnasts Sharaya Musser and Madison Merriam put on a show for Penn State fans on Senior Night.
The two seniors combined to post some of their best results this season to lead the No. 16 Nittany Lions to a 197.325-196.775 win over No. 19 Kentucky. Penn States team score was the second highest in program history and Musser and Merriam contributed heavily.
Musser earned the all-around title with a final score of 39.650, the second highest all-around score in her career. Merriam tied her career-high on vault with a 9.95, earning scores of 9.925 or higher on two of the three events she competed in.
The Nittany Lions fput up a mark of 49.475 on the vault, with five scores of 9.875 or higher. Juniors Lindsey Musgrove and Sidney Sanabria-Robles both recorded season and career highs with a score of 9.875.
Over on the uneven bars, Penn State finished with a score of 49.250. Musser and Merriam led the way, both scoring a 9.875. Sanabria-Robles finished with a 9.850, matching her season and career-high on the bars.
Penn State also tallied a 49.300 on the balance beam and turned in the same score on the floor.
